North River Custom Knives (and hawks)....Experience?

I was browsing around the North River site and they have a couple of interesting pieces.

www.north-river-custom-knives.com/

Curiosity is now overcoming whether or not anyone here had experience with their tomahawks in regards to construction, durability, materials, etc etc.

My only current hawk is an ATC VTAC that I keep on my ruck for work and what not. Looking for something a little more traditional (in design and construction) for use on my personal woods-walking-camping type trips.

The reason for interest in some of these pieces is the hammer pole type back ie. something sort of similar to a CS Trail Hawk vs. the giant spike on the back of my VTAC.

Other than here does anyone have any other makers doing this type of thing (nothing too over the top in both price and decoration)?

Any help is appreciated!
Cheers.

I'm having Stephen build me one of these. Spoke with him by email 2 days ago and he says it will ship by Christmas...so I shall let you know brother.

Sorry for the delayed response.
I look forward to hearing/reading a review from you CitizenQ and how your project turns out. I figured since Stephen is form Quebec its a lot less hassle for myself (another canuck) to get items shipped out west.
Sounds/looks like a nice Christmas gift!
Cheers.

Vance bud...Hawk shipped on 12/22/2008...still don't have it! :grumpy:

I kid you not...I had a dream about it last night bro...seriously...in my dream the hawk finally arrived...but the head was epoxiedonto the haft! As I remember, and needless to say, I was very disappointed with the fit and finish. ;)

"Holy Bat Crap!"...tell me this was just a dream

(yo' dude...were you like scarfing up some hot'n nasty Mexican food just before bedtime? that'll do it every time :o)

...now you're datin' yourself bruh'...have to pull out my Led Zepellin collection and get foggy eyed....

I know...I been down so long it looks like up, and if it wasn't for bad luck...well...I wouldn't have no luck at all.

There are some very nice looking hawks on his site. I too look forward to your review.

It was waiting for me when I got home! I took a bunch of pictures and I have some initial impressions that I will post later!
