I'd like to get views and info on small axes and hatchets that can be carried in/on a pack for day hiking please.

What is available, what can you recommend?

My apologies if this question has been put 600 times already but I know next to nothing about axes, but, I would like to:D

For a backpack axe, take a look at the Gerber / Fiskars polymer handled axes. They are good for chopping small limbs and camp chores.

If you are a 'wood & steel' guy, a step up would be a small Gransfors hatchet.
