Hi guys!

I got a NW ranger more than 2 years ago and after about a year the guard started to develop some movement. It's not loose but if I wiggle it I can detect movement. I'm pretty sure it's not a big deal but the thing I like about fixed blades is the solid construction. Since then it's been sitting on a drawer and that sucks because I really love the knife.

I want to like it again so I wanted to ask if anyone else has/had such an experience? And I know it's probably only pushed against the ricasso by the kraton so I assume it's just a cosmetic thing? I could be wrong. Thanks in advance.

Did you buy it new? No, the guard is not just pushed against the ricasso by the kraton.
If there is movement, sounds like a defect.

I did buy it new. The one big crap thing about my knife addiction is I don't live in the US so sending something in for warranty is a big hassle. I can't even take the handle apart.. would be awesome if I could get it customized with micarta though

Depending on where you live, you might have a regional distributor that can handle the warranty for you, worth emailing SOG and finding out.
