O.J. Simpson on Swiss Army Knives

He was indeed on the board of directors at Victorinox.
The alleged murder weapon was a Kissing Crane stag stilletto by United Cutlery.

Thanks. I don't suppose that's really the optimum weapon to chop off heads?

you would tend to go for something with a black coated blade, fully serrated, preferrably made by the illustrious Dark Ops company for head removal

duh

If I remember the case correctly, the murder weapon was never actually recovered; I think the identification of that stiletto as the murder tool was based either on a receipt record of something he bought beforehand, or on the pieces of knife that were recovered from a trashbin at the airport in some way in conjunction with the investigation. It's been a decade now so I don't remember.

A local gun/knife store owner testified that was the knife he sharpened for OJ not long before the crime happened. Joe

OJ was a knife guy, cool.

Unfortunately, he's the wrong kind of knife guy. Guys like him are the reason guys like you and me have to deal with all the stupid laws concerning knives.

And it's really funny to me that he was on the board of directors for a company, but doesn't call the company by its proper name. Can he not pronounce "Victorinox"? And what was he, of all people, doing working for Victorinox? Marketing? Good job, fella.

He was also in lots of funny movies, and some not so funny ones. People thought he was a nice guy until the day he finally snapped. I can't blame anyone for associating with him before all this happened.

Before the murders OJ made a fortune lending his name and image to LOADS of corporate boards and so on. Many corporate boards are filled with celebrity deadwood that don't actually do anything but hopefully impress investors, at most. Though mostly they come from legal/political backgrounds. People like Ford and Kissinger are on loads of boards, I doubt they have ever done much more than pose for pictures and shake hands. And collect salaries.

Back to the knife issue--yes he was on the Victorinox board, and one tidbit I remember is someone said he once opened a lockback serrated edge Vic and said "WOW! You could KILL someone with this!".

I believe He used a saw toothed edged blade from a SAK for the murders. The coroner's report stated this.

People like Ford or Kissinger (or Cheney and Bush and Clinton, etc) are on boards for their connections as well as for the opportunity to have their pictures taken with them. (Its not whatcha know, but who you know ;) )

No, but it sure is a swell knife. I just got an old Italian stiletto from my buddy last week. OJ sure was a good football player. I always liked him. To bad he got into trouble. Not my business though, he left to many witnesses.

It's funny, I saw the knife posted years ago on the internet, but haven't been able to find that info recently. I was looking for this info several months ago, when OJ got into trouble. I do remember that the knife was a German made stiletto. Good job finding the info guys.

Here is the store where OJ bought the knife: www.rosscutlery.com . While the Kissing Crane shown is a smaller one, the model he purchased was a larger display model with a 6" blade.

I doubt we'll ever know what was used, during the discussion of the Crane knife, Simpson's lawyers submitted into evidence something in a manila envelope that was said to be the knife, but that matter was never cleared up.

Ok yeah, not that kind of cool.
Just thought it was interesting.

Yes, I remember that there was something special/differant about the knife supposedly used. It was a pretty large knife. The Kissing Crane siletto which sells for around $40 seems smaller then I remember seeing on the net years back.

Isn't Ford dead? And wasn't his real name Leslie Lynch King? I guess Jerry Ford sounded way better than "Lynch King".

Gerald Ford died in December 2006. He was born Leslie King but took the name of his step-father.
