I am gonna risk sounding like that all knowing doosh, but I'm not, just got bit, stung, hit, an of course... Stabbed by the knife making bug. Oberg may be a brand, however, it is also a specific cut of file, a double cut that is supposed to remove material quickly while leaving a fairly smooth finish. I stumbled across a 14.5 inch Oberg cut file, from Sweden, possibly made by Sandvik? At my local goodwill!? Oh yes. Pferd handle and only 3.99$ goodwill... WILL not let u down, but it's a lot like scratch-it tickets, you gotta try couple times before anything truly excited happens, but when it does, it's deeply satisfying. I also stumbled into a retired machinest selling his file collection, 48 Nic, Grob, Hell, and Sim, with ransoms Craftsman hand-file as well. ALL AMERICAN or GERMAN. Got those for 30.00$, and now I believe in God. Finally, the point of this is to say that, I have a diverse grouping of quality files. Even still have a Mexican Nic, and kobalr or two. Nothing cuts faster and smoother than the 'Oberg' cut Swedish beast I got @ goodwill. Final nugget of wisdom, the Oberg cut also had level filing in mind when designed. I've seen some Snap on Oberg cut files on Amazon, so I know I'm not totally insane, at least when it comes to files... Summary, hit up goodwill often, they restock all day so when u arrive is irrelevant, feel free to send me your old, or new 2x72 grinder, cash is nice too. But i swear I'd rather have the grinder. THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON BLADE FORUMS! But my skills are developing at an alarming rate, and although it was a joke. Someday, you'll see my knives on display somewhere, or I must've died in fluke knife making accident. Possibly the knife bug bite? They aren't poisonous are they? If u read this whole thing, I'm honored, buenos Dias from the shite new Nic factory. Surface hardened crap!!! Blah
