Picked this up locally, surprisingly nice, inexpensive knife. All 3 blades had a nice snap, no blade rubbing, hair popping sharp China blades! Ox horn handle. I found out on the forums this knife comes from a division of Frost. Anyone else have a recent cheap knife surprise?

Hi zee!

Looks really good. The horn is great. But, I´ve never heard about this company before. Nice knife. :)

Kind regards
Andi

rprocter may be along to praise his Ocoee River saddlehorn at some point :) They are apparently very good in the F&F department among the PRC knives

I don't know anything about the brand, but I LOVE that horn, the way it fades from light to dark. Great character!

Let us know how the steel stands up to use. That's one pretty pocket knife.

Carl.

That coloring is what finally sold me on it. I probably could have ordered this model a little cheaper online, but I'd rather physically see it and help support this new local knife shop. It wasn't very much more anyway.

Here are a couple of big boys from Rough Rider with a RR peanut for size. Big trapper is dressed in "barn board" bone and the giant whittler is in smooth black bone. As Always, scary sharp and beautifully built.

Best regards

Robin

That knife was build by the same company making the Taylor Schrade knives. I have the identical whittler from Schrade without the fancy bolsters.

I have a couple of Ocoee River saddlehorns, in white smooth bone and one in ram's horn, which I modified into a Wharncliffe.

These are good, tight knives for the money.

I bought my first Ocoee soon after they began to show up on ebay. My first was a 2 blade Saddlehorn with ram horn. It is one of the best folders i own. Everything about it is right-on and the blades pop hairs even better than my best RR's.
Since then i've bought quite a few more. None are 'bummers' but none has equalled my first one.
My most recent is a 3 blade Slot knife (Clip blade, Fork, Spoon). Bit of a disappointment as the 3 parts do not hold together well. They want to come apart too easily. But it's neat to see this somewhat unusual and expensive to make knife, for a very inexpensive price. Great gift for your kid to take on picnics and camping. They like 'em. (well, mine does)

I'm going to start browsing for one of those 2 blade Saddlehorns. They had a few more Ocoee River Knives in my local store here. Can't remember what style they were. The whittler jumped out right away. I started my son on a few knives, he doesn't have the fork n spoon combo, but I've given him a SAK, Case Seahorse Whittler, and Case small inexpensive lockback.
