Seen a bunch of Off-Grid knives pop up in the latest acquisitions thread as of late. This is the first I’ve heard of them. I know less than nothing about them… educate me!

Please lol.

their website shows who makes what, somewhat. for example the caiman xl is bestech, so China. a different folder shows just Taiwan.....

I recently heard about them too and grabbed a couple of Stinger XLs for myself and a buddy (he picked the tri-tone version).

These are made in Taiwan - I’m personally not interested in the models made in China.

For less than $80 with my Law Enforcement discount I got a 4” 154cm blade with a beefy liner lock, riding on ceramic bearings. The handle is comfortable, well contoured G10 and the detent/action is very good.

Also the edges on both knives were very sharp and had symmetrical grinds.

Overall pretty amazing for the price imo.

I don't see it mentioned anywhere on their website if they have an agreement with ZT or Ken Onion to make their ZT0300 clone. Makes me wonder who else's designs they are ripping off.

Which of their models is an 0300 clone? I've never noticed any clones or even clone-esque knives in their line-up.

Hmm - to me it looks more “inspired by” the 0300 rather than a clone. I hate clones but that model isn’t close enough to bother me.

People like you take all the fun from derailing threads with smut, rumor, hearsay, and accusations.

I personally am at the point these days were so many knives resemble one another and there are so many collaborations going on that a great deal of knives look a lot alike to me. Myself, I would be pretty careful before I accused someone stealing intellectual property or copyrighted material.

But hey, that's just me!

I agree that a great deal of knives are super similar. I'm pretty much done with production knives because of that. I have what I like, and now I'm on to custom and midtech.

I agree it looks "inspired" by the ZT, and normally I wouldn't think this is a problem, but some of the big companies get their panties in a bunch over stuff like this, even when their knife is out of production.

I just came across a new design from them coming out soon and it looks pretty sweet to me. Marketed as a chef’s knife but looks very capable for general utility and defensive purposes as well. Made in Taiwan and selling for under $100 with Kydex - not bad.
