Thought I would post this for future reference. I found recently an old Double bit axe with bevels that has the marking OLD HICKORY then under it says Woodenware & HDWE. From investigation it came from the Southern Woodenware Inc based out of Davidson Tenn. Couldn't find a lot of Information other that they were around in early 1900's. Here is the only clear picture i could find of the markings. Mine is badly pitted and i could only make out the D of old and the HI of Hickory. Anyway maybe it will help someone down the road.
