"Old Knives"

I couldn't tell from the seller's pics if this was ivory or bone. In hand, I'm pretty sure it's very smooth bone, and I like it. :thumbsup:
I could fill in the missing chip with some epoxy, but haven't decided yet. It's not like it's in pristine condition. ;) In fact, the liners are a little smushed, so there's lots of gap underneath the bone covers. The blade still snaps nicely enough, though.

Dig the long pull and it wears it age well if you ask me. If it were me I'd fill the chips and edge it:) That has the makings of a real cool user!
In a similar vein this once posh(?) knife landed and despite not being mad for mop I'm a fool for a three blade whittler with a manicuring file.

Chips and cracks galore, no points or edges anymore with wobble and gaps. But I love the thick stock of the main and real sweet steep grinds. My file sang on the steel too so fixed the above and it's getting used. Cut me real deep too, lady edwina has to superglue it lol.

Anyone know much about the maker?

Oh yeah, I'll likely touch up the edge and carry it. I'm still dealing with getting all the rust and grime out of it.

That's a great old Sleeveboard Whittler. I love how tightly they fit those blades into that frame. :cool::thumbsup:

Koch wasn't a maker, they contracted their knives from cutleries in the U.S. and from Germany. If yours doesn't have a "Germany" stamp it was likely made here in the states. That one's a real beauty!

Today’s drop, 3” 5/8s Remington UMC. All nickel/steel with enough metal and snap to go for many more rounds. A chip on the pen blade and wear on both. Lots of freckles too. Quite well preserved bone without fissures or cracks and sweet hues. It’s rainy and cloudy here, the best I could do.

Good looking knife Gus, Remington sure had some nice bone.

It’s looking like a good haul week here.
My first POCKETEZE Robeson 623414 brown bone dog leg jack. Listed at 3” 1/4 yet measuring in at 3” 1/16th. Made between 1922-1939 all nickel/steel and snappy, tight action with sweet liners. Scales are well preserved and again, with close to flush on all stops. Enough metal remaining for a great carry.

Wow Charlie.... all of those punches are darlings:eek:
Beautiful bone jiggin’ and colour on that mini HJ at 3” 3/8.
Now that brown bone HJ is somethin’ else. That jiggin’ looks like rabbit tracks! The spear is classic and that punch is sharp! Then that composite’s worming looks deep and defined! and that punch and spear are just grand!! Those two shields are just so shapely :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I’d have issues pick’n a fave:p:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
