"Old Knives"

Here is the NYK pic again, with a pic of the pile sides added. The smaller knife has a typical NYK "rollover" punch, patent number 701-878. The larger knife has a flatter profile punch patented on Feb. 3 1914.

Charlie:
Those are some outstanding NYK knives in super condition. Thank you for posting.

Three more from the recent collection. Two Empires, and one Empire-made, Scouts. I have owned a couple of those Pearls in lesser condition, and often dreamed of finding a minty one. The etch has faded, but is all there - it's a nice example IMO. The Lakeside has a classic early Empire punch, and the other two knives have somewhat later, less-expensive pattern punches.
The bone Empire has a deep etch (maybe a stamp?). Enjoy!

Wow! I've never heard of a pearl handled Scout. On one hand, it doesn't seem like the best material for a camping knife. On the other hand, it's gorgeous! :D

New favorite stag knife! Check out my new Camillus-made Sears and Roebuck Sta Sharp jack. I love the stag on this one, and the coined liners are a nice touch. Great snap on both blades!

I found this scan of a 1930 Sears catalogue online

What a knife! Just gorgeous!:thumbsup:Great pics!

Finally able to acquire a Robeson Shuredge Pocketeze. This particular knife checks a lot of boxes for me . Sabre Clip , Split Back Whittler Sunken Joints , Good Jigging with Worm Tracks , in pretty good condition , and price was really good .

I have no idea yet on the age of it yet . Any help with it would be appreciated .

Also picked this one up yesterday . Have no idea of maker . Was made in Sheffield . It is a 3 Bladed Split Back design . One of them is a File . etching of Sheffield Steel is still visible on the main blade . All 3 tang stamps are : WARRANTED ENGLISH STEEL . Liners are Brass . Knife is not in real good shape but for $3 , what the heck . I liked it immediately when I saw it and it had me at the Split Back Design .

If anyone can enlighten me a little about this old knife , I would appreciate it .

Harry

Sweet little machine, that one!! Nice find, Harry.
Beautiful, easy to carry, sunk joints and useful blades - what's not to like??

Very nice Harry! I love the Robeson Pocket Eze line of vintage folders. That Oval/Ellipse shield with the red back ground and Pocket Eze engraved in the midst of that just draws me in like no other! Quality knives and the bone jigging is just gorgeous to my eye! Top it off with the sunken joints and the saber clip blade and its got everything going for it. That saber clip blade looks like it was made for some serious wood removal. No wonder the old timers would buy no other folder brand!! Congratulations on finding one and a Whittler pattern no less:D

Harry, give us a closeup of the tang stamps and you'll get some answers on the dating.
Thank you very much Jeff and Lloyd .
I doubt that I will be able to take Tang Stamp pictures with my photo equipment . The Main Blade Tang reads :
ROBESON in a straight line with Shuredge , in script , under it with U.S.A. under it . There are some numbers stamped on the main tang but they are not readable without me doing some stronger cleaning .
The smaller clip blade has ROBESON in an arch with CO under it with CUTLERY under that .
The small Pen blade is the same as the small clip except I cannot see the word CUTLERY . I doubt that there is even room for it .
