I always buy the actual books too, because I prefer reading from paper, but the PDF's are an easy to store and easy to search reference with "Control f"
Some books are out of print and suddenly ridiculously expensive because of that.
If I find that I liked a book that I read online, or borrowed from the library, I end up buying it. Amazon may be trying to push their Kindle device, but I'm just a stick in the mud for real books.
