Ontario 1 Mod Help

So I was just going to jump right into this, but wanted to see if anybody had any tips or advise or words of warning for what I want to do. Basically I want to wave my Ontario Rat 1 as seen in the attached picture. This one started as a black blade and clip as well. As far as grinding and filing, as long as I go slowly and stay away from the tip I should be good heat treat wise. Do you think the spine thickness, from 3mm to 2mm, after grinding will be to detrimental to the blade? I think this mod as well as polishing and liner drilling would be sweet, but if its going to be a total mistake I'll probably skip that one.

Any advise would be great, I don't want to totally screw my blade up.

I don't think you need to remove that much material to get it to wave.

I would slowly grind in the wave notch and test it over and over until it works how you want it while maintaining as much material as possible.
