I literally never even cut paper with it....
I purchased this for my daughter, her first knife, and I wanted Her to use it first!!! :)

With my previous two Becker's, I fondled them for maybe a few minutes, then raced out into the backyard to pound them through big logs.... Not this one yet..... It's Her's and she Will.

So...... I've been sanding, and getting the finish better. Oiling too.
And It happened. Just got back from urgent care........ Seven stiches!
I never complained that it wasn't sharp. Haha. Ugh!

Trying to explain to the doctor why/how it happened......

Honestly idk how I did it?
I had added the scales back (I should of kept them off)

I was just wiping a little bit more oil on the scales...
Geez after sanding some, I must of added a good six coats. Then it happened.....I BARELY touched it.
Bam! Seriously big gouge, two layers of stiches.

Karma?
Lol

I told them I was going to Super glue it...

But even I knew this was maybe too much?

They kinda scolded me when I told them what I was thinking.

My Bk62 came super sharp as well and it responds well to a nice stropping. It's pretty fine behind the edge, and I love it.

Hope you heal well. I have nicked myself a few times and now I try to work with affordable cut resistant gloves when it's comfortable to do so. I actually got myself yesterday making a lanyard for a small knife out of shock cord... the stretch caught me off guard as it shot the knife out of the sheath and gave myself a light surface cut. I super glued it.

I carry a Buck 110 everyday. Can't remember ever cutting myself with one.

I tried one with a drop point blade. That knife would find a way to cut me everytime I used it. I finally stopped carrying it.

That's interesting...I seriously wonder if blade shape factors in? I've never cut myself this bad before, and I really don't know what I did?
I was just wiping the handle off.... somehow I think the towel must of snagged the blade's edge, pulling the back of my hand into it? It happened so quick and it's So sharp that idk even if I actually made a cut, or just bumped my hand somewhere else on the knife? Until I looked....haha.

What a great gift, it now has your Blood, Sweat and Tears sorry Beers ingrained into it (Possibly some DNA). Your daughter will cherish it...

And memories....
She even drove to the hospital with me, and asked to see the open wound a few times...haha
I hope her seeing me being calm and collected showed her a good reaction, to how to deal with adversity! :)

She did ask which knife it was, she wanted to see it? She doesn't know that I got her one. I told her "Never mind which one"...... which triggered my wife to ask me if I bought a new knife...ugh!
