I am looking for a small folding saw that I can carry in a small pouch for EDC use
I have the Laplander and a pruning saw and both are excellent, but too big for EDC in a small pouch

My usage for the saw is, I make small quick fires by cutting a few 2" branches, 6" long and then spliting them with a Mora
This is excellent for a fast fire

I have tried the saw on my Farmer but it is too small for easy use

Can folk here recommend the Opinel Folding Saw?
How comfortable is it to use?
I am concerned about the saw binding in use

Any other suggestions also

Thanks

It's a nice little saw. Fairly comfortable. I haven't noticed any bidding up when in use.

You want a Gerber/Fiskars slide-out saw. It weighs about 3 oz. and works very well. I ordinarily wouldn't pack a saw, but for its weight and efficiency, there's no reason not to. About $10 last I looked.

Have you considered 111m SAKs? I haven't tried the Farmer yet but it was noticeably easier to saw with my Rucksack than with my Ranger. It's about as compact as you can get for something that should still be able to handle 2" branches without too much trouble.

The shorter Silky Pocketboys might be an option as well.

I have one and it works well. Not like my Silky, but it is a lot lighter. For the money it is a good deal.
