Thought I'd ask the experts here before the maintenance and tinkering section. Is there a trick to getting the pivot pin out? I have it most of the way out and I don't want to mess/bend it up getting it out with brute force and pliers. I'm figuring a punch or nail and hammer, but I like to double check things first.

if i recall correctly, those used to be riveted in, how about sanding/filing off the pivot and then pushing the pin out

Thanks, I managed to get it with patience and vice grips. One side has a head like a nail, the other side they tap just enough that it has a very light swell that hangs up when removing.
