Opinions on Blue Grass Cutlery?

Blue Grass Cutlery is just a contractor, they do not actually make any knives.

That particular knife was made by Queen, and most every Queen contract knife I have seen done for B.C.G. has been VERY nice.

Last Confederate said it Queen made .Excelent knives,Just priced higher than Queen. Like Mooremaker knives made by Queen....Winchester knives are made very nice though..

Just a note for those that buy on the internet, watch knives under the name "Winchester" as there are at least 3 companies that imports Chinese knives under the Winchester name, some sorta "OK" and some not.

That can usually be determined by price, though.

For sure, I was more thinking of ebay type online scammers, someone that might price a "Chinachester" like a Blue Grass and not reveal it's origins.

And then again, there are Queen made Winchesters from Blue Grass that are black delrin and sell fairly cheap, but are great knives, unfortunately they bear a resemblance to some imports with the jigged black delrin.

My experiencies with Queen's D2 knives have been rather bad, both of them came dull as butter knives and took a lot of work to get sharp (I ended up sending them to a knife maker , the first time in over 500 knives I've had to do that).

Are their carbon steel knives any better in the edge department?

I have a few Queens in 1095, some under the Queen name, and some under contract names like Moore Maker. I can't say they came any sharper out of the box than a Queen D2, but they are MUCH easier to touch up.

I like there carbon steel knives, they are up there with some of the best , Like Confederate said easier to touch up than d-2 . But I have no problems with d-2 once they are sharp. Buy a Shatt& Morgan with ATS34 , I like em alot and you may too..Mike
