Recently acquired a Benchmade 300SN and a Spyderco Para Military 2. Years ago I had a Gerber Loveless and other knives which was stolen when transporting household goods back from Guam after the Desert Storm Gulf War. We were returning stateside after my tour in Guam. Got back into knives a month ago after finding a Kershaw Chive laying on the ground. Playing with that little flipper did me in. I killed it and had to send it to Kershaw for repair. Now I have an itch to buy an auto but can't decide which one. It will be for EDC when I'm not at work so it can be a little dressier than my normal carry. Have also lokked at the TR3, Benchmades, and the Microtechs are also neat but have heard some problems with CS. Really confused in FL. Help me please.

The CQC 7 is a great design and pairs up well with Protech's high quality. Really though, you can just pick a Protech you like the looks and size of and you'll probably be happy.

Also take a look at the Kershaw Launch series. Very solid American made autos at a great price. They have about 6 different models with one even being an Emerson design.

I have a Protech CQC7A and it's been fine for the year + that I've had it. Fires hard, never fails to lock up solidy, and it's easy to close. I'm the second owner and the original owner never reported any problems with it in his sales thread. If I get another auto, it'll likely be another Protech.

I now have 3 protechs --the rockeye, the swat TR3 and the cf sprint and all are of really high quality and fire reeaally hard. Also everyone on here will confirm how great their cs is IF you ever might need it which I doubt you will.Good luck on your choice.

Can't go wrong with a Protech. I have had a TR-3 for a couple years now and it had held up great.

I have a bunch of Pro Techs , manual and autos, and each one is amazing! Fire H A R D, close easily and lock up tight!!
Had them do a blade swap on my TR-3 and it was a pleasure dealing with them! Great CS.
Great products from a great company!
Here are a couple of mine.

You can't go wrong with Benchmade or Protech autos...I own both and have been happy with them. Pick out one that appeals to you and enjoy :)

Thanks for the replies.
Joe is the last pic, the one with the carbon fiber inlays and dagger style blade a godson?

Protech is solid, my 19yr old son has about 8 of them,
We live down the street from their shop. Dave has always treated my son really well.
my honest opinion is I'm not a fan of that particular Emerson design
I did own one for awhile
