How’s the edge retention?Good knife I've had one for many years, works great for utility usage. I keep it hanging in my small workshop and it has also spent time as a truck knife. I plan to leave mine coated since D2 isn't fully stainless. The blade shape may not fit you need for utility, it can be a bit long for some tasks, but I've gotten plenty of good use out of it.
Nothing to complain about and easy to touch the few times I've needed to.How’s the edge retention?
The what now?and the 440A version
Yeah it’s an older version, looks like the D2 one but has a shorter, grey coated blade. It’s fairly hard to come by depending on where you are.The what now?
I didn't realize they ever made that knife in anything but 1095 and D2.
Yes, it was called the KA-BAR Next Generation Fighting Knife. A google search brings up a couple of youtube videos, a book about it, and a couple of reference pics.Yeah it’s an older version, looks like the D2 one but has a shorter, grey coated blade.
