I have been wanting to upgrade my defensive fixed blade (a Cold Steel Kobun) for a little while now but I really didn't know what I wanted to buy. After some deliberating, I decided upon the Meyerco Terzuola CQB1. The knife comes with a MOLLE clip, but I would like something with a little more flexibility (I.E. inside the waistband or vertical cant). Would the Spyderco G-Clip be a wise choice of mounting hardware? Thank you for any imput.

Yes, you can carry in multiple directions and in the waist band. They are very compact as well and fit on even small blades.

It's not a secure as a tek-lok on the belt but it is very secure clipped to the waistband.

Ok, thanks for the response. I usually carried my Cold Steel Kobun IWB, but the clip wasn't quite as secure as I would have liked. Hopefully, the G-Clip will be better.

The G-Clip is very adjustable and works with or without a belt, but has a few downsides. It requires a sheath with eyelets placed to fit it, I don't remember the distance between eyelets. Also, there is the possibility of the clip interfering with drawing/resheathing the knife as it fits very closely to the sheath and can "pinch" the mouth of the sheath if mounted too high. This has happened to one or two sheaths I owned, and I ended up switching my IWB sheath attachment to the Blade-Tech IWB Loops. These are made of a highly flexible yet durable rubber and require a single eyelet to mount. Infinitely adjustable too. I have used these for the last two years with no problems at all. When set up correctly, the G-Clip works great, I just prefer the IWB loops a bit more. If you need more info I would strongly recommend contacting Mr. Mike Sastre at River City Sheaths.

Mr. Sastre worked with Spyderco to develop the G-clip and you would greatly benefit from discussing your questions with him. I have done business with him several times in the past and he is a true gentleman and a man of his word. Hope this helps

Thank you, I'll know more about whether or not a G-clip would work once I receive the knife. I'll need to get a better look at the sheath first.

They are very handy and I think more versatile than a tek-lok. However, sometimes a thicker belts do not agree (fit) with the G-clip.

I use them predominately on sheaths I make. Love them, the holes are one inch apart on center and I just drill them on every sheath I make, problem is I have 10 or so of my most functional knives and best sheaths set up for them but only about four G-clips. I've made my own too but the Spyderco version seems better and comes with the screws I would need to buy anyway. I think only fits up to 1.5 inch belt but is very secure and the selling point, easy to remove when you need to.
