ordnancedefence.com -- Scam or Real?

I was looking for a particular knife, which is generally unavailable and one showed up as available at ordnancedefence.com. I've done a Google search and BF search for this company but can't find mention of it. I'm 99.9% sure it's fake but wanted to post this on the off chance someone from BF has actually done business with them. BTW, I've tried to contact the company itself to get their physical address and phone number but no response yet (I only tried this morning).

TIA for any information!
 
There are a number of red flags on that site. Every knife picture on that site is stolen from Blade HQ - with their watermark on each picture. They claim to carry Blade HQ exclusive knives - even ones BHQ is sold out of. They claim to have stock of long discontinued and highly sought after knife models. They show pictures of a storefront but do not list any physical address.

This site is 100% a scam. If you order from them, you'll be lucky to see anything show up. And if something does, I guarantee you it'll be a fake.

The reason searching for the site name on BF turns up no results is because these scammers create new websites constantly. As soon as people start reporting, they just create a new one hoping to dupe people that don't know any better. Somehow enough people fall for these scam sites to make it worth the scammers time to keep it going.

Look critically at anywhere you're considering purchasing from. Research site feedback and verify if the site is an authorized dealer for the brand you want to buy. Most of all, remember that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
 
Scam for sure. Bought a Ox Black Knife there and had to pay through a third-party site. Then they "shipped" through another third party with $215 insurance (by weight, not value). The weight was inflated, and the carrier was listed as UPS that never charges such high insurance on small things. Initiated a credit card dispute...
UPD: They never replied to my emails but after I told the first "shipper" that there was no way I would pay insurance, they sent another email from another "shipper" asking for $150 "insurance"... Already $65 cheaper )))
Had to abandon this and exposed their deeds on a scam alert website.

ORDNANCEDEFENSE.COM has scammed me. It's true I ordered a Microtech MSI knife over 3 weeks ago. It never showed up. They have since stopped responding to my emails. STAY AWAY from this site! SCAM SCAM SCAM! The only time they talk to you is when you are ordering. They want that confirmation and money. I sent them an email telling them that the knife never showed up. They responded that they had sent the tracking info. (They didn't) And that it had shipped....That was 2 weeks ago. That some bull! Nothing takes 2 weeks to get here! You cannot contact them at all. theres a number which the seller had used to text me....I'm sure its a scam number as well. 303-351-1307.

How did you pay? Claim fraud on your credit card.
 
I'm actually surprised they even accept credit cards. Usually they want Zelle or bitcoin.

Mine did (Chase). But eventually the bank gave my money back.

True, but they know how to appeal to the public. They claim they have models in stock that are sold out everywhere else. And the advertised prices are reasonable.
 
I joined this group after doing a search for "ORDNANCE DEFENCE" , I am not a knife collector but I do own several high quality knives, along with lots of guns. I have a Benchmade 1000s auto spike that I bought new in the late 90's. A friend broke the tip of the blade off years ago & every so often I drive myself nuts trying to find a replacement blade or even a new Spike. I was so excited when I ran across Ordnance Defence who had a limited edition 1000s in stock! Thankfully as well made as their website is they dont have a legit means of payment or I may have sent them my money straight away and never received anything. I became instantly suspicious when after only 2 or 3 minutes of placing my order, at 10pm eastern on a Sunday, I was contacted via text telling me how to go about making payment. While texting back & forth about all sorts of E-mail , Zelle, BitCoin etc , I was busy searching for company info. I have ran across bogus companies before & it is usually very apparent by the website layout or misused words because of a non english translation, but this website is shockingly good & very well put together.. I can only imagine how many have fallen prey to this scam site. Thankfully due in part to this site I was not one of them. . as a side note- if anyone has a line on a 1000s spike or a replacement blade, ive tried contacting Benchmade with no luck, they are totally gone & out of production, contact me Or give me the info & I would appreciate it. . Welcome to Bladeforums J Joe6v6 ,

Joe, because you are new here, you may not know that Bladeforums also has a Knife Exchange Forum area where any member is able to make a post for a Want To Buy knife or other item.

However, only a paid member with a Gold or higher membership level is able to see and respond to those posts, (because you need a Gold Membership or higher to sell on Bladeforums).

That means that if you should choose to place a WTB post, looking for your 1000s knife, and because you have a free membership level and not a paid Gold ($30/year), you will only see your individual post and think it’s the dead zone, completely empty.

But fear not, there are literally at times a full page a day being posted there, and countless Gold and higher members are reading and responding to those posts.

It’s certainly worth a try for you to go ahead and write up a WTB post and put it over there.

Thank you Brothers - I was just about to pull the trigger on a knife from this site and did a last second check - it brought me directly to this thread !!!! Always check before you buy !!! These mf'ers only accept payments that are unrecoverable - always a red flag. Thanks Again !!!!
