I know a lot of you guys are interested in John Willis' Original Special Operations Equipment. Well here is one of his latest pieces of genius, it is his 4 Mag Stacked Micro Rig.
The original Micro Rig was designed to carry 4 mags with velcro flaps for retention and had a 6"x6" pocket to carry a VOK, extra bullets, a pocket smoke, or whatever you feel necessary, it also had a small flat slot pocket in the back with velcro closure.
This version has two big differences. The most obvious is the replacement of the 6"x6" pocket with one of John's removable compact IFAKs. I will post the contents of mine later.
The other obvious difference is that the mag pouches are open topped. There are two methods of retention with these pouches. The first is with a bungee cord and the second is with the velcro which lines the pouches. To use the velcro you must put a 1" square of velcro of your mags, any more than a 1" square and you will have a terrible time removing your mags. Personally I don't use the bungees and have no problems keeping the mags in. These pouches will hold either AK mags or AR mags, both bullets up or bullets down (if you know anything about mag pouches you will understand how rare this is). Notice in the pics how the bungee pull tab is split, this is so that it will go over the corner of an AK mag to help it stay in place. I don't have a mag to demonstrate this unfortunately.
Normally this rig comes with nylon straps which cross in an x on your back. I had this one upgraded to John's H harness simply for comfort although this rig is so light that you do not really need it. The H-Harness will also allow for the easy integration of one of John's hydration carriers.
The one thing that I can not convey with these pictures are the absolute bomb proofness of this gear. All of John's gear is over built, over sewn, and basically indestructible. I just used one of his bigger rigs for my deployment to Iraq and not so much as one stitch came undone, I know of few other brands which can claim that. In the event that you somehow manage to damage a piece of John's gear he will repair it for life.
Here are some pics of the rigs, let me know any questions you may have.
The rig and H-Harness overall.

Here is the inside of the slot pocket, notice the velcro. You can use this with many of the velcro backed organizers on the market.

Here is the inside of my IFAK. I have a 14 Ga needle for chest decompressions, a Nasal Pharyngeal Airway to help with a blocked airway, lube for the NPA, a pair of non latex gloves, compress gauze, an q bandage, and a Quick Clot Combat Gauze. There is also a Combat Action Tourniquet attached to the MOLLE outside using rubber bands.

Here is the rig held upside down with four fully loaded mags held in only by a 1" square of velcro. Even shaking it they wont fall out.
