Sal, I know that you are busy with SHOT stuff, but sometime would you give us a quick summary of the origins of Spyderco, it's first products, origin of name etc.

Arron,
I worked for Sal for several years and the story on the name comes from a tool he used to make called the mechanical hand. He and Gail thought it looked like a spider and there you go.



 
I'm not Sal but I want a confirmation of a magazine story I read. The article wrote that Sal and his team got their idea to produce serrated blades after realizing that the steak knives they use in a restaurant didn't dull easily because of the serrations.

Haven't read anything though on where or how they got the brilliant idea to place a clip on their folders.
