Orion Sanding Stick?

has anyone tried out that Orion sanding stick? I've seen it advertised a couple of places, and I've seen people using them in YouTube videos, but I'm always leery of trusting paid-for product endorsements. I've been hand-sanding the same old way for almost a decade, wrapping my paper around a file as a sanding stick, or using a leather-backed steel block when appropriate. It's works fine, but it is hard on my hands, which is something I'm starting to notice more and more as a problem. I'd sure like to find a better way, and that Orion seems like it might work okay, but I'd love to hear from some of y'all who have actual experience with it. Maybe my search-fu is lacking, but I couldn't find any threads about it.

Thanks.

I Just use a block of wood where I wrap the sandpaper around.
Haven't heard of the Orion but I would love to buy the sand shark sanding machine someday. Seems like it would save a lot of time and be easier on the hands.

Interesting that this topic has come up today. After sanding several blades with hollow grinds this weekend the same way I have for a year now (using a rubber eraser as a backing) I was looking at buying the Orions sanding set up.

I recently purchased and received the Orion sanding stick. I haven’t used it yet but it seems well made and fits in my hands well. I’ve tried square sticks and flat sticks and while they certainly work well, my hands do get fatigued (but keep in mind that I am old and a bit arthritic). I’m hoping the Orion helps.

Does a person buy rolls of 1" sanding paper and just continually feed off the roll?

I'd probably try that
