I had a couple small trees sawed into slices. I can cut it up into whatever size you want.
I have a few different sizes, most of it's 3/4" thick, some is thicker.
If there's some interest, I can post pictures and list other sizes.

Thanks,
Phillip

As of May 15, I am out of blocks, unless 3/4" is thick enough for you, in which case I have lot's.

I forgot to say that this stuff is pretty well seasoned, though I'm no expert on wood stuff.
Most of the places I've seen sell osage are asking $5 or thereabouts, so I'm asking $4 for blocks or scales. Since I don't like the sizes "they" sell their woods in, I'm cutting them to be 2" wide and 6" long. If you need a different size, I can do that too. No cutting charges, but you do have to pay shipping, which is $8.10 for a flat rate box. If you're just getting one or two, an envelope would be cheaper.

Thanks,
Phillip

email sent, asking if you can do some 1.25 square or rough stock.

Anyone know if peach is a good material? I just took an old standing dead peach out of a yard today.....

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the orders thus far! I still have lot's of wood left, but my bandsaw gave up the ghost, and the new one won't be in for about a month. I can still cut blocks using my jigsaw, but splitting scales is out of the question until I get my new bandsaw.

I'm not sure. What dimensions does it need to be, and how straight does the grain have to be?

Well, lengthwise- it could be anywhere from 4' to 6', a bow is usually made from what piece of wood you have to work with. As far as grain straightness- as straight as possible but that is not as crucial as having no knots, wormholes, etc. Snakes in the grain aren't to difficult to work around, twisting is quite hard, however.

~Thanks

Phillip, I PM'd you but I guess it got lost. What size Osage can you chunk out? I can slice it down to whatever I need. I would also need to know cost and shipping to 22025. Let me know via PM or email.

Yes, I got your PM, but it got lost in the vast empty depths of my brain cavity. :o :D Sorry about that.
I'll PM you, but I'll post the info here too, for the benefit of others.

Most of what I have is 3/4", but I do have some thicker stuff, like 1-3/4" and 1-1/4"
can cut it into 12" long by whatever width the boards are, and ship it flat rate, which would cost $8.10. I've been asking $4 for a block or set of scales.
My bandsaw is supposed to arrive this morning, so I'll be back in business.

Here's what I have cut up and ready to go:

There's 3 basic sizes:

Scales; 2" wide, 5.5" long, $4

Small scales; 1.5"-1.75" wide, 5.5" long, $3.50

Blocks; 2" wide, 1.25" thick, 5"-6" long, $4

For $2 extra per block or scales, I can stabilize it for you. (using Nelsonite)

I'm also thinking about sending a bunch off to WSSI to get plasticized. If any of you would like to see me do that, let me know.

Phillip,

Let's try this again. I would like 2 blocks stabilized. PM me with total, payment info and estimated time for delivery.

Is all of it plain sawn, or is any cross cut??? If you have any that is cross cut, I'm interested.

Not sure what you mean by cross cut. ??? Is that the same as quarter sawn?

Tecsek, PM sent.
