OT: emergency shelter I made / HEST used

Fun do it yourself product but does it block the weather? I imagine you would stay warm with a fire but it would have to be a small one or your shelter wouldn't last very long.

Thanks, Partisan, A person could duct tape this if they wanted. The wings are gonna block a lot and the "whelen roof flap" is adustable....all the way up "in line" like a standard lean to...and then straight out for a bit of a "porch"...and all the way battened down towards the ground if you wanted it.

I've had a huge thing for a Whelen set up for a long time. Place a canoe across the front of one and it's about like a fort. :) I'd love to have a canvas one made like Bill Mason talks about in Path of the Paddle...maybe one day. :)

as far as the fire size...these tarps don't melt like the tinsel thin space blankets...I've had plenty of fires under one of these - they are about as durable as any "blue tarp" but with the heat reflection capability added in.
