Kifaru X-ray and Camelbak Trizip have been my favorite backpacks over the last several years.
Titan Survivorcord is awesome if you haven't seen it yet. Normal 550 cord plus a strand of copper wire, a strand of waxed jute, and a strand of fishing cord.
Binoculars... I have a small little Brunton monocular that I keep for spotting, but otherwise don't carry binoculars unless I'm doing something special.
Axes... the new Snow and Nealley stuff is not bad. Steel from the midwest, wood from Texas, and assembled by amish craftsmen in Maine. They aren't sharp when you get them though, easily remedied.
Boots... Redwing 1412's right now. Doing my best to make them last for a long time by oiling them once a month. Been through more brands than I can remember in the past.
Fiddleback Machetes are great.
For firemaking, I'm still using Firesteel.com stuff, but I bounce between those and LMF. Tinder is plain ol' vaseline cotton balls, melted vaseline with half of the cotton ball dipped in it and the other half dry for quick spark catching. A little coil of waxed jute in the pouch as well, I think. My PSK has a tiny little LiveFire tin in it.
I'm a Snowpeak fanboy when it comes to cooking pots/pans/cups. Good titanium stuff that has never let me down. I use a pot that came with a plastic resealable lid you can put on it so that if you cook more than you can eat and want to save it, you can seal it up tight then take that off and put it back on the fire the next day.
Pants for the woods... Duluth Firehose Flex. Cotton, but water-resistant treatment. So comfortable and flexible.
There, plenty of things to talk about
