Bill's message made me think of this. Just in case anyone is trying to find hard-to-find books, here are some good places to try:

http://www.bookfinder.com (searches a number of other sites)
http://www.abebooks.com (North American based)
http://www.antikvariat.net/ (Scandinavian book-sellers, lots of stuff you won't find elsewhere [English, German & Scandinavia books])
http://www.zvab.com/ (German book-sellers)
http://www.galaxidion.com/home/index.php (French book-sellers)
http://www.antiqbook.com/ (book search web based in Holland)
http://www.biblioz.com/ (book search web based in Oz)

You can try here too:

http://www.alibris.com/

right that's another one - but try all of the others first, because most of the books on alibris are also listed somewhere else and if you buy it though alibris it's slower and about twice as expensive. But sometimes a seller only lists through alibris, so then there's nothing to be done - but most list on abebooks or one or more of the others.

p.s.

for reprints of hard-to-find books on India-related topics, I still recommend Vedamsbooks:

http://www.vedamsbooks.com

a good place in North America for buying new books is http://www.alldirect.com - they're cheaper and faster than Amazon, but have essentially the same selection; and sometimes, if a book is in print, it's cheaper to buy a nice new copy than a used copy, oddly enough.

cheers, B.

I'll add that that Dover Publications Inc. reprints old books on a HUGE variety of topics, many esoteric, at extremely affordable prices in very high quality paperback. The range is very large, from scientific monographs to Lewis Carrol, to Durer etchings. They do have a website, but I'm too lazy to find it again and post. They may very well have some reprints of old books on arms.

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I've been trying to locate an OOP book for quite awhile, and most of these sites are new to me.
