OT: Gun Forum

Mine used to be thehighroad.org, but its long gone. Glocktalk is actually pretty good, in the non-glock firearms forum is where I usually look since I don't have a glock.

It really depends on what kind of firearm you're interested in. I visit forums related to 1911 model pistols, lever action rifles, black rifles (ar15), and one general firearm forum started by my snake raising buddy.
You can find a forum for just about any type of firearm that there is.

My favorite is a canadian forum CGN (canadian gun nutz), they have an exellent
knife subforum as well.

That's really weird, because I've been reading and posting at thehighroad for years :) There most assuredly is a www.thehighroad.org though if I remember the history right it was resurrected from the initial forum, and I don't know if it's still got the same members & contributors you remember

No Way! I never thought to look for it after it was gone for a while. People liked it soo much back then that someone got ahold of the data from the original site and had it up as read only for a long time just so people could go search for all the great info that was posted there.

Guess I better go back and check it out.

I gave up Thefiringline recently because the posters seemed to get dumber and dumber. If you search Strategy and Tactics section for my last post perhaps you can figure out why !!

The High Road

and

The Firing Line

seem to be the best-behaved forums...;)

There are tons of people on both...but THR is bigger.

Gunboards.com and ParallaxBill's forum are good for C&R type stuff.

Rimfirecentral is good, although most of the focus is on the Ruger 10/22.

The Firingline... well.... it's not the best forum but it's better than many.

I'm a member of The High Road, ARFCOM, Gunboards. If you like TRADITIONAL black powder shooting muzzleloadingforum.com is a great site.

i like AR15.com and AK47.net myself.

Be careful there. A lot of teenage mall ninja's hang out there and offer advice that is based on nothing but internet rumor. They also have a heavy handed policy regarding personal bias issues.

What site is best really depends on what you are looking for.
