Lots of dumb statements from DailyMail of course . Obviously there was an axe factory [ LOL !] there . Was Otzi a salesman searching for new markets ? I hope they find more .
For those who make connections I must note that while apparently Otzi and friends had lactose intolerance ,the major cheese from the Po valley , Grana Padana [which includes Parmegiano] has almost NO lactose !!

You would be correct because they said Otzi was shat in the head with an arrow and that goes against everything I have read. He was shot in the back....
They perhaps misconstrued the phrasing in the original article on LiveScience that said that he was "shot in the back, struck in the head", meaning that he was both shot in the back and received a blunt force blow to his noggin.

The original findings were apparently published in the German journal Archäologische Informationen.

PBS had a great episode of NOVA where they examined Otzi in great detail. As I recall, they say that there was a forge that worked raw copper but I don't remember if they said where they thought it was. The axe showed good workmanship, tho, whoever made it knew what they were doing.

It was discovered recently that the axe Otzi had was from Tuscany, if I'm remembering correctly.

A knifemaker friend did this work. Forged in copper.
I made another attempt at replicas, in 1070 steel.
As soon as I can, I'll show you.
