What are your opionions on it? I have one on order, I don't have any Karambits in my collection and have been picking up a few knives in the Schrade lineup. I've seen the Shasta for some time now, and I've been curious about it. It's been on my want to get list, so tonight I finally ordered one.

I have largish hands, and from what I have been seeing in reviews are that my hands may come fairly close to both edges.

After I receive it, I was thinking a solution my be to grind in a small top and bottom choil, or just simply dull down a 1/4 or 1/2" of the edges to give a bit more safety factor on the grip area.

I have hands like a sasquatch, have never been able to find a karambit knife that fit me well.... ordered 2 shastas when I caught them on sale a year ago....they fit my large hands VERY well.

word of caution, this is the only knife that has ever cut me seriously....be VERY careful how you unsheathe it. the back side edge caught mt thumb and split it open like a grape all the way to the bone. Its not a really .....safe .....sheath system.

other than that though, the blades are stupid sharp, well constructed, handle is large and comfortable and I have no other gripes with the knife.....however it must be noted, that other than my thumb, they have never cut much.... bought them to add to the collection more than to use so... they sit in the tool chest with 1000+ other knives....

I know they are budget blades with less than spectacular steel so if used for much I'd expect them to not hold that razor edge for long.... but I guess, a karambit is not exactly a utility knife so, its unlikely you'll be breaking down cardboard boxes with a double edged karambit....

just watch your thumbs man... be EXTREMELY careful the first few times you unsheathe the knife.

Shasta came in today, gotta say I love it. Only mod was to paracord wrap the oversized finger hole. It not only makes it more reasonable size but also provided cushion and eliminates hot spots during strikes, which are the two most common complaints.
