Paracord hatband braids?

Hey guys. I just got a Tilley TH4 a little while back thanks to some of the favorite hat threads here. I love the hat but can't help but think a paracord braid band would be a good addition along with storing some small kit behind it.

I was hoping for some recommendations on which braid would be best and most of all some pics from those who have done it already.

TIA-Mike

Small world. I have a TH4 and just ordered some paracord from going gear to make a braided band. I'm going to use the same method I use to make paracord bracelets. Below is the link that I found. I'll post pics when I receive the paracord.

The one disadvantage to the braid is that you basically tear it apart to use it. Below is a link for a solution if the paracord wasn't for emergency only.

Hi Mike,

I used a King Cobra braid to make a hatband a while ago. It holds a ton of cordage, but is very heavy. It is also a drag to unweave.

I pulled the foam pad and slipped in the foil wrapped kit. Bouillon, thread, hooks, shot, tinder, matches, micropur, paper, mini pencil, wire, paper, bandaids. Wound up pulling it out eventually, as it was uncomfortable. Could probably redo it.

Have something like 7 or 10 feet of paracord in the braid. Don't remember much about it, since I made it long ago.

My "Slatts Rescue Belt Knot" link is dead.
Finished it looks similar to Rob G's hatband.
Very easy to undo...
Maybe someone saved the illustrations?

I would do a four braid flat or a doubled up three strand braid personally. Attach it with a couple o stitches o thread and call it a day.
