Hey guys!

I'm going to be getting a KA-BAR BK14 or an Izula very soon and was wondering if anybody know of a tutorial on how to wrap like this:

I would love to learn how!

So would I. With trial and error I could probably stumble upon the handle wrap. But try as I might I've never been able to do the monkey first.

I did e-mail him, but as this is probably his trademark wrap, I kind of doubt I'll get a response :\. It's from ebay.

The wrap seems simple enough, as does the monkey fist, but the tricky part is how the wrap gets terminated with a monkey fist..

Yeesh, I'd love to learn how! What a wrap

I am guessing the ball is tied before the handle is wrapped. I do not think that knot is called a monkey fist, the name of it is on the tip of my tongue but just can't think of it.

Globe knot?

They seem to be slightly different than a monkey fist

Given enough time, and a little practice, we can easily unravel the mystery of this proprietary wrap. Amazon sells those little 7" pry bars, wrapped in paracord and fitted with a mini compass, calling them apocalypse bars, and I managed to figure out how to do the wrap myself. We just need to study the pictures while we've got an Izula or BK14, and two colors of paracord in front of us.

Grr had a reply written and the tablet lost it. Now that I look, I think that is a two strand diamond knot. But they used two of each color cord. There should be tutorials on youtube for it as well.

That looks like a really simple wrap. If I hadn't loktited the handle on my Becker, I would try to recreate it. And I would definately tie the diamond knot last.

There is the thread in "projects, tools, techniques" "show us your knot tying". Stormdrane post in that and has a blog.

There is also the YouTube channel tying it all together.

Sorry I don't have a better answer

It does look like a diamond knot Squashfan, but how is it terminated as a diamond knot with no strands on the top end?
I can't wait to decode this beautiful wrap!

I have also posted in the TIAT forums.

You cut the cords just a smidge above the knot and burn level with the top of the knot. I have done that before.
Or you can burn back the cord then pull the cord though the knot until it is level. Either way you have get enough width of the burn section so that cut cords can't slip back though the knot. I might be able to scrounge up a pic.

There are other ways to do this as well.
