I just bought a Parker Toothpick from the 1980's with the steel being made in Japan. I am very impressed with this blade. Anyone else have one? If so, let me know what you think of your Parker?
Thanks

I have a Parker-Edwards that I'm unsure of the age. Also not sure where it was made; I'm away from the collection at the moment and can't check until later.
It's a damascus lockback with wood handles - the damascus is quite hideous and the knife has significant blade wobble. Should have left this one at the store.

I have two. Nice, they were affordable for what they are but not up to GEC/Case/CS levels of fit and finish. Bought both of mine at gunshows for really low prices for having stag on one and damascus on the other. I find the damascus attractive and refreshingly random. I'm not a fan of "patterned" damascus just there for cosmetics.

Yes I have a bunch of them, folders and balis. They are what got me hooked on collecting knives back in the 90's. Most of the ones I have I don't use because I think they are too nice and have a lot of sentimental value so they sit in my display case. IMO great knives to start out collecting especially if you want to collect older knives. Cheers

I have this unusual little copperhead razor saddlehorn. Decent stag, and these blades get crazy sharp for stainless steel, a real cutter!

We sold at least a thousand Parker knives back in the 80s'. Very good knives!
Some of those may have been to my Dad.
The sharpest knife I have is one of his Parker knives, tang stamped Surgical Steel Japan. Agree that fit and finish is not up to GEC standards, but still beautiful bone scales. I'll have to try out this picture posting thing...

I have two novelty knives from Parker. Smallish one is a revolver the other is a .45. I'll dig them out for pics.

A family member has a little Parker with a scrim of a whale boat and "Hawaii" on it. It's a well made knife that she uses. Got it used and it's met the test of time and holds an edge.

Smiled when I read this, as that sounds familiar. When I really started accumulating knives back in the early '90s, one of the early ones I picked up was a Parker/Eagle Brand found at a gun/knife show. Not really 'traditional' in pattern, it was a full stainless-handled & thumbstudded model with a very attractive MOP abalone inlay in the handle. That particular knife had a 'Surgical Steel' (Japan) stainless blade with maybe the wickedest combination of coarse/toothy and thin edge angle I've seen. I remember it very well, because that's also the first one that really bit me hard and made my finger bleed like a stuck pig. Whatever the steel actually was (I've speculated it might've been something like AUS-6; that was common in a lot of Japanese stainless blades then), it seemed it's Japanese manufacturer knew expertly how to take advantage of it.

My collection of three. :)
Good little folders that can be obtained on the cheap. These were new old stock, uncarried.

This one says 'prototype run' I don't really know much about Parker knives, but I've been told it's pretty common. I just thought it was a pretty blue.

It's been said that Parker had entire lots of knives marked, "prototype" so he could charge more for them. Parker is said to have been quite the "character".

I've got a little Damascus skinner I got from a great uncle of mine that says Parker but how do I know if its the same 'Parker' you guys are displaying?
