Okay, you talked me into it ;) If these work for you I'll give it a loving home.

First is a Camillus CUDA, newer Chinese version. I picked this up as an example of the mechanism, but I was recently able to snag an original US made one so this one needs a new home :) Only been fidgeted with, the action works well but full disclosure the button does get a little wonky every once in a while and jams up when closing. I just open it back up slightly while pressing on the button and it pops right back into place. Neat knife to play with.

Second is this pocket 8x20 monocular/microscope. I picked up two at some point, not high end but very good coated optics. I think they were a special run if I remember right, very crisp for the price. Snapped these pics with it and my cell phone ;).

Can I get some info on the monocular/microscope (spec sheet?)? Is it more for seeing far off things bigger or close things bigger or does it have the capacity for both? I've not seen anything that does both well but I haven't looked into this type of thing for a while as we only need the microscope piece of it at work. Now that I know how cheap the digital microscopes are I keep toying with the idea of getting one for home but the seeing things far off adds additional appeal for my nerdy side.

Hey hey! I thought I'd give it a couple weeks in case others wanted to claim this... But IF it's ok with you, I think I'd like to claim this for my niece. Her 10th Birthday is coming up on September 23rd (day after my wedding!) and she has a Halloween camping trip with her troop towards the end of October. I also found out that she didn't lose the Duke 500 I picked up for her. She was really excited for her last camping trip, packed a few weeks early and forgot she had packed the knife, lol. If she gets the Juni, I'm going to see if she'd pass the Buck down to her little sister.

If you decide you would like the Juni to go to someone who actually has their OWN kids, I would COMPLETELY understand!
Fantastic!!! I’m sorry to get back to you so late, I’ve been kinda busy. Message me your address and I’ll have it in the mail for you tomorrow on my lunch break. I’m also throwing in a couple lightly used Vics (one locking blade, the sentinel, and also a bantam) because I have multiples and these two aren’t being used.

It didn't come with a spec sheet, just the instructions printed on the box lid :(. The monocular by itself gives 8x magnification at a distance. The microscope attachment by itself appears to be about 2.5x, which would make the combination about 20x (I can clearly see the pixel grid on my phone screen).

Looks like a comfortable knife with decent ergonomics. How's the steel quality?

Kizer does a decent job with VG10. I had a begleiter for a while and liked it; a nice budget option for a knife similar in feel to a BM 943.

Awesome! And no worries! With the wedding coming up I know exactly how you feel, lol. So busy!! Thanks a lot for doing this, my niece is going to be jazzed! I'm going to look into having a nice leather sheath made locally for her since I have a little time before her birthday and then I think I'll pick her up everything she'll need for proper care/maintenance and give her a lesson to go along with your generous donation. :)

My younger niece might end up being the more excited of the two as she'll likely be getting the Duke 500 and the Bantam SAK and she's been begging for her own knife since her sister got hers. I just have to talk to my sister first to make sure she's "old enough", lol.

I'll message you my address now.

Not sure I'd feel comfortable, considering the value of my PIF is about 1/3 of that of the two Kizers posted.

The kizer I posted, escort, is S35VN and is a knifemaker collab (they have a special designation for this but suffice it to say they cost more, bladesmith?). The velox 2 is part of the vangard series which is their budget line, think of it like the FRN knives from spyderco. It's not too far from what you offered unless it's brand spanking new. It looks to be in really good condition but kizers don't keep value well, at least the vangard don't. The titanium body ones do pretty well still I think.

Also, you're welcome to offer more than just knives but I think anything that wasn't a knife was outdoors related or something discussed on the forum like a gear and gadgets kind of thing.

Thanks for the info. Might have to think about claiming it.

Who says that you have to take both Kizers?

Lol... I guess I should have clarified, one or the other.

One more bit of knife gear I've had for years and need to get rid of. Puuko blade and super hard block of stabilized burl. I believe the blade is from Ragnars.

.... This is a Fantastic thread!
Somehow, I've never seen it.
I'd love to take on this puuko project !

I looked at the Ragnar's site and could not find this knife. I have one of their little trade knives.(1095)

I'd really like to know what type of Steel this is on the puukko blank?
Does anyone happen to know?
I'll find something tomorrow to offer up!
Thank you Bladeforums
.:)
Edit: the photograph of the puuko in post #1769 seems to be deceiving me a little.
Is that a chisel grind or is that a scandi grind?

I'll offer up this Android tattooed tiger 50 mm automatic watch. new

I would like to claim the puuko post 1769, but I'd also like any possible info on the Blade steel and The Grind.. Redbusa06 Redbusa06

the Kizer VG10 was about what I expected from VG10, but I'd only ever handled a few knives with VG10 before that for a short time.
it takes a good edge and is pretty easy to sharpen and I never found a need for touchups in the middle of the day. The hardest use it saw was breaking down nylon bird netting, zip ties, and honeysuckle vines on a brooder pen I didnt need anymore - it made it through the day, but definitely needed a touch up at the end of it all.
