The Fallkniven SK3 Juni (and Swiss Army knives!) came from Lee D Lee D today. :D

What an absolutely ADORABLE knife! My niece is going to LOVE it! Right now the plan is to give the Juni and the Sentinel to my oldest nice for her Birthday (she got a SAK Pioneer X from her troop leader already) and then talk her into passing down the Buck down to my youngest niece (who will also receive the Bantam). The Buck is her knife, though so I want it to be her choice. If she decides to keep the buck, the Bantam and the Sentinel will go to my youngest niece.

Tomorrow I'm meeting with a local leather-worker so he can get started on a new sheath. Just trying to decide between a vertical, horizontal or neck style. She's pretty small for a ten year old so I want to keep the sheath rather small... I feel like a vertical sheath would be safest, a horizontal the most convenient and out of the way, and a neck sheath if she doesn't wear a belt camping/hiking (waiting to hear back from my sister about that).

I know a "pay it forward" wasn't required for this but I would like to find a way to pay it forward anyways. I'm about out of knife related things to give away and my wedding is coming up next weekend, but give me a bit of time and I'm sure I can find something (or somethings) that someone here could put to use. Thanks again Lee D Lee D !

I recently received the neck knife I ordered, and rather than only a dedicated neck knife, decided on the belt sheath as it is small and can then be worn either way. Just make a cord also for those times in camp when she wants it handy... Or belt on the move.

Got my PIF yesterday(timberline discovery). Nice knife, something I would have bought myself,20 years ago. After fiddling with for about 15 minutes, I can see why it was discontinued. Really sensitive to bumps in the pocket, had it open on me while getting a pen out of my pocket.

The Wenger Soldier/Standard Issue will go to Fishiker along with the AirSOG he has already claimed. My goal is to have both shipped this Friday, if possible. Please update the list, accordingly.

Thanks.

Sorry dude I carried it often over the course of 2 years and never had that happen. I certainly wouldn't have offered it up if I thought it was unsafe :(

@Redbusa06 Received the puuko the block of maple and a pile of leather!
BIG thank you....
I'm really looking forward to drawing this up..
I also have some Ironwood and Shadetree teal burlap. So I've got some choices. Bladeforums rocks!

Maybe you could have the sheath have a few eyelets on it. One at top one at bottom. That way you could use a cord through bottom hole for neck carry or static cord.

One rubber pull the dot loop for vertical carry, two rubber loops for horizontal.

Of course it would need a kydex insert to hold a neck knife upside down.

That’s a good idea! Sounds like it’s make for a pretty versatile sheath. :)

I’m waiting for a call back from another leather worker the next town over. When I explained I wanted a compact sheath for a ten year old, the leather worker I went to said it wasn’t really his style (he does more western styled work) and referred me to another person. :/

I’m not sure if it’ll be done in time for her Birthday, so I’m thinking about just getting her input on it. Might be fun to design a sheath with her.

Sounds like fun. Many girls of that age could care less about stuff like that but it still would be good. Makes the whole thing personal. If you design it are you going to try making it also?
