I have some smaller knives that I used to carry in the office when I worked in the corporate building. Now i work from home so I dont really carry them anymore. All have light use opening boxes, cutting an apple for lunch, etc. Except the Lake. that one got beat to hell. I got most of the blade in shape but I think there is still a small mark that needs to be worked out to be pristine. It is still a good user though and would make a great first knife for a kid.

I also use a double edge safety razor to shave and ordered a bunch of variety packs of blades while i was trying to find my favorite. I have a favorite now which means I have a lot of loose blades I wont ever use. If you wet shave and want to try some new stuff, let me know. I have enough for one pretty good sampler pack.

dragonfly salt is a good option for this, IMO, if a small knife is acceptable.

Yep, I will probably go with the Dragonly salt or the Salt 2. The Delica sized Salt 2 would be slightly more to my liking, if I found a really great deal on one, but I wouldn't turn down the Dragonly salt if the price was right. I've had both, in the non H1 versions, and enjoyed them!

I really like the wire clip for running shorts waistbands over the other spyderco clips. The deep carry also reduced interference and rubbing around the waist when inside the waist band. It's also one of the lightest knives while keeping a decent amount of area for grabbing onto it.

I find it interesting that the 420HC didn't work well, I thought it was one of the more corrosion resistant ones. I have a modified buck ops boot knife I used for some running and hiking but not that much as I'm primarily a cycling and went the dragonfly route before getting a multi-tool that has a knife on it but I'll probably look at a SAK or something when I get back into centuries or touring again. I also have the advantage of the saddle bag in that utility. The boot knife is 154cm or CPM 154. If you think that could be useful I would gift that to you or you could try it out at least.

I agree with all of this! Unfortunately, I think it is just my sweat it super corrosive! In addition, I sweat more than average and live in Florida! I appreciate the offer of the boot knife but I actually had the Buck "smoke Jumper" 110lt and it succumbed to the same fate, even with its CPM 154 blade steel. I fear the boot knife would also rust...

;) Not to just be swinging a broken stick - there's nothing in it for me anyway -BUT - that Opinel - is super light and I have been swimming with it in the ocean and the lakes. Looks brand new nonetheless. Carrying it for running would require a clip and lanyard set up or maybe a nylon sheath. 'Nuff said.

A nylon sheath! Why didn't I think of that! I had seriously put some thought into your Opinel, before ever conversing with you about it, but couldn't think of a good way to carry it, as my running shorts only have a tiny, tiny little pocket and there is no way the Opinel would be secure in there. But, for some reason I never thought of a nylon sheath! So I will claim it! I think I have seen some Buck 110 nylon sheaths that are horizontal carry, and the opinel seems like it would fit well in one. I will PM you my info RayseM RayseM
Thanks,
Bruce

I would like to claim the swift if a used kizer escort is an acceptable PIF. I will get new photos when I get time (stcok photo from BHG).

What is the value you would put on this? Really interested in trying one of thenkizer models but want to see if I have something of sufficient value. All my submissions to the thread are lower for sure.

I will simply post the value as BHQ has it for a new one, state that I bought it used, and have used it further. Part of that is because I want to be cautious giving exact values on this one and part of it is because I want to encourage you to make what you think is a fair offer. I'll admit to being a little skeptical due to your lack of post count and fairly recent join date so I guess consider this a small test. my email is deleted and we can have some discussion there to help build some familiarity and talk value. It's not a cheap knife, even used, by most standards but certainly far from a custom.

Hey Chris, I'm in this very boat as we speak. I'm trying blades and have yet to find a favorite. If you need a new home for some loose stuff, I'd love to try some new brands.

Shoot me an email at WestportSewer at Yahoo dot com if you would.

You mean I'm not the only person that hates to use an electric razor?

I would be interested in trying something new also. Just telling me where to get something different would be a start in the right direction. :)

I can give you plenty of places to shop, that isnt a problem. I might have enough blades to do a couple of "care packs". Shoot me your email in PM and I will let you know.

I didn't get an email from you, please let me know if yo haven't sent it yet or if you did and it didn't we can try something else. Or let me know how I can send a message your way.

After careful consideration I want to put this up for the taking. As it required no PIF from me I am asking for nothing in return. Mule B75P with burl handles and hip sheath. I've found the handles to be a little too slick for me with gloves and I wear gloves a lot when working out in the woods. It's too nice to "utility up" with grip tape or roughing up the surface if someone else is willing to use it. Amazing slicer, it would make a nice hunting or kitchen knife if cleaned up well. I've used this minimally since it was gifted by @woodysone

The only limitations I'm requesting is that it goes to someone who is active in the forum, let's say something around 1 year in the forum and some amount of activity on the forums that is adequate as determined by me. Basically, if you only spend time in the classifieds this isn't for you.
