Pentagon Molle anglehead flashlight?

Have one and like it. In fact, now I need to find it....:(

Simple on off. Compass has to come off light to get away from steel in battery to work right. Nice and bright. Small.

Zebralight may be something else to look at.

I had read or hear that they aren't very bright. How do they compare with, say, a NiteIze mini Maglite conversion?

The zebralight looks nice, but it takes lithium batteries versus the molle's taking a AA. I like the idea of taking a battery that is relatively cheap and readily available.

The Zebralight H50 takes a single AA battery. The H30 takes a CR123A.

Found it. Definitely brighter than a NiteIze 3 LED Minimag though not sure of the 1W.

I like my 1AA Zebralight a whole lot more. Much more useful IMO but I use it more as a headlight than an angle light. Superbright flood with 3 levels so you can spare your battery.

The molle light comes with one yellow filter and you can get a filter kit with red, blea and maybe green too for it but I think you can only screw one onto the base at a time.

The Molle out-throws the Zebralight but not by much. I just find the wall of light more to my liking for this type of light. If I want throw I have other much better options.

I am wanting something lightweight to put as a backup on my turnout gear. I'm thinking the molle may be better suited for this than the zebra, although being able to adjust the setting would be nice.

Look at the Streamlight. It's LED, has options, and fits on Molle, too. Kinda pricey for me, but I still like the options of different colors for hunting, and variable light outputs.

Are you sure Pentagonlight is still in business? They were sued by Surefire and Pentagonlight no longer sells flashlights through their web site.

I'm not sure, but I run a knife/flashlight etc. website and my distributor stopped carrying Pentagon, so I contacted Pentagon directly (They are very close to me in San Francisco), and they told me they decided to do all of their own distributing. I never put in an order with them but last I heard a couple months ago they were still willing to take an order from me. I'll look into it in the next couple days and see what I can find out.

BTW, the Molle light is a handy little light, but reports that it isn't the brightest are on par. I like that it's AAA and not lithium, but it just doesn't have the power of a Fenix or something comparable. The big plus with the Molle Light is the angled head. I sold several of them to a few friends of mine who own a plumbing company. They like them because they can clip them into the front pocket of their Carhartt overalls and just push the button and the beam shoots out right in front of them, lighting up whatever they are looking at. A big plus if you are working with both your hands.

It' s actually uses a single AA, not AAA. You can use non rechargeable lithiums without any problems. And of course long running rechargeable nickle metal hydrides. Mine houses an Energizer 2500 mAh and is clipped onto my daily carry bag- snuggly into its molle webbing. It serves as a redundant light in the event my primary and secondary goes out of commission.

I was considering the purchase of a Pentagonlight MOLLE flashlight, but heard talk of the company going out of business.

I called Pentagonlight today at (650) 877-1555 and spoke with Carla. She confirmed that the company is closed and went of business due to a court settlement.

I can confirm that Pentagonlight is done. The MOLLE lights were great little units and probably the best product the company had.

Surefire did sue them based on the design of some of their other flashlights, and won. Company sent out cease and desist orders to all their dealers for the offending models.

If you have a MOLLE light hold onto it. I know at least one person who gave it away figuring they'd just buy a new.

SF didn't win a lawsuit, they were granted a cease & desist order, and pentagonlight did not have the financial backing/support to defend themselves.

I've had one of the MOLLE lights for about a year now. It's a great little versatile light that I find very natural in hand, very easy to clamp on a belt or in a buttonhole for straight forward hands-free use, and sufficiently bright for emergency use in a cave or on a trail after dark. It's small enough to pack in a bag or pocket & I've used it in old mines and in loading the ATV in the dark when bigger lights weren't at hand.
I prefer AA-batteried small lights over lithiums because the batteries last longer in use, they're available almost anyplace that sells any kind of battery at all, and spare AAs take up much less room with much less weight than Cs & Ds in larger lights.
Spare AAs can also be sorta universally swapped around as needed in lights, small radios, GPS devices, laser flares & so on, without having to carry two or three different sizes & types of batteries.

Pentagon can't sell you any more MOLLEs, but they referred me to Maxpedition about 20 minutes ago where I just ordered two more at $35 each.
I'd been meaning to stock up on the things, but waited too long.

I can strongly recommend the MOLLE. With a decent long-lasting LED bulb, an AA battery, a multi-use clip & a very handy angled head, and a compass in the base, it's a hell of a buy.
