Petrified Fish

Indeed G2 can speak to this line of knives for the most part very good fit and finish
I have only had one that had very very light detent and returned it
All the others were very good and I feel that they were worth more than their asking price

Yeppers, here's probably one of the better knives I've owned in style, fit and finish, simply amazing but overall was too large for me so I moved her on and her new home is very happy.

I have another that is up for sale right now, called the Beluga, also excellent fit and finish but again, just a little large for me so she's on the block.

This one has pretty unique scales and I love the blade shape;

The one that I had issues with is their smaller all wood handled one, I think it was just a late Friday build and it got through their inspection, but the detent was just not there and I didn't want to muck about trying to see if anything could be done with it. It was the Damascus version of this one;

Where that one had the PERFECT detent and was very well done. But sold it to get the Damascus and was let down by that weak detent.

Two of them are on the way for gifts. Model is Beluga, designed by Russian bloger l think.
I did pick those based on G2 input in the forum and blade shape that l find useful.
It was hard to find those, the DLC blades and CF handles were gone 3 weeks ago, l purchssed those from their website.
Coming from China. When they arrive l'll post pictures and impression.

PM'd you but it's up for sale, not sold yet, have another knife inbound so making room for that, otherwise, very nice knife!

I've got one, and am pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The action is crisp. It came with a nice edge on it, and it's scales are tight and right. 👍IMG_11102021_143330.jpg

I've had a bunch of PF knives now. I can confirm that they are decent. They seem to get one of the better heat treatments on Chinese D2. Actions are pretty good. They've also got some fun handle materials available on some models. My only complaint is that the scales can sometimes have crisp edges, especially on models with nested liners. This doesn't bother everyone but I'll usually put in the few minutes of filing/sanding it takes to smooth up those edges.

BTW, the PF 818 is still one of my favorite designs. It is a good EDC knife, and much better after that few minutes of filing/sanding. Since they've recently been branching out with other steels, I've been bugging them to do an 818 in 14C28N.

I have one of the PF919 D2 with blue/grey G10 handle scales.

It has good fit and finish and handle ergonomics.

I will keep an eye on their line for future purchases.

Does anyone have a knife from this company? I have seen good reviews on YouTube, so I just ordered the 949X in carbon fiber Let me know what you think about them if you have one. I know its going to take some time to get here
I have a petrified fish grow.
It's a push button lock flipper.
The blade is very sharp and it works great I have the red and black handles scales my only complaint is as a safety feature they lowered the push button lock very low and it's hard to push I don't think they had to do that it's very hard to push one of those buttons in your pocket. But I love the knife other than that safety precaution of the very low push button to release the lock. You really have to struggle to get to the button

I got a few of these recently. beluga and victor. all have been well made fit and finish wise. no blade play, liner lock bar and blade tang seems to have the right angles. no slip.toewrds open under spine pressure and good detents. I'm not a chinese knife buyer typically but these have impressed me on quality for the low prices. got a pic of one of them....the Victor think its called..not good on remembering the numbers they use for models..

this model has smoothed inside scale edges that chronovore likes

I Like them to. For a low price knife there very nice.
I love the grow that I have but believe the push lock button is way to low to comfortably push.
I'm trying to find a stainless steel cap to crazy glue on top of the low setting lock button to make it higher. But I want to keep the knifes beauty.
It going to be hard finding a good fit that looks factory made.
The PF grow has a thin very pointy blade that will easly brake off. So this knife is not a hard working knife. I bought it for looks and slicing . Petrifiedfish grow. Beautiful knife.
I'm buying a vosteed Thunderbird just for its looks, it's another knife that's only made to be pretty and slicing not even working knife but it's better than the grow they look pretty similar. Thunderbird went up in price this year it's the newer model nobody even has them available yet it went up $50 dollars.
I think they're now $125 which is usually too high for me but I like the knife and I'm going to spend the money.
Believe it or not I'm using a cheap m-tech for a everyday knife.
I'm going to buy a push button lock flipper with a fat belly of some sort for a everyday knife one of these days.

949x is very pointy and I find it to be less of a working knife and more for looks and slicing, people have dropped them and had the point break off same with the knife I just bought.
if I was going to buy another one I would make it the raccoon my mistake the raccoon isn't a petrifiedfish it's a vosteed.
My petrified fish I just bought is a grow and if I drop it on the ground and it falls on the point I know the point will snap right off that's why I like the raccoon style vosteed.
I called the raccoon a fat bellied knife I really don't don't know what style blade it has but I know you could drop it and the point won't break off.

I'e had this one for three years and really liked it. Carried it quite a bit until my move earlier this year. It's in storage now.

Being clipless, that one either lives in the pencil slot in my desk drawer or in the pocket of a cardigan sweater during appropriate weather. It's a great little slicer with pretty wood.

Cool looking knives in meh steels.

"Meh" is relative. They use good steel relative to the asking price. They have lots of models in Chinese D2 or K110 from Bohler, with many of the former being hard to beat around $30. They also use N690, 154CM, Sandvik steels, etc.; all at generally competitive prices.
