PH1 vs. PH2 handle

I received my PH2 in the mail. Never held one before. Great knife but handle is a little too skinny for my meathook hands. I know the PH1 is longer. Does the handle have more girth?

I havent acquired any of the three, RL2, PH1, or PH2, so I can't help a whole lot. Our former unofficial moderator here was the guy in the know on both the Imperials and the Loveless knives. Here is a picture of the PH1 and PH2 side-by-side. Maybe it will help.

And here is the thread where Phil discussed these knives.

The pictures help, Michael. The PH1 handle looks like it has just a tad more girth. Thats the amazing thing about the Sharpfinger, Deerslayer, etc. The handles are relatively skinny but the handle shape and general ergonomics more than compensate so that you don't get that "I can wrap my fingers around this thing three times with digits left over" feeling.

My guess is that the PH2 is about half the weight of the PH1. I had the PHI first and when I got the PH2 I felt like it was just a miniature version. JMO Rick

The handles of the PH1 and PH2 are the same thickness. The PH1 handle is a bit wider and longer. So yeah, I'd say there's a little more "girth" to the PH1 - I don't know if it'd be enough to matter in your case though.

Hard to compare these two side-by-side like that because my PH2 is stag and the PH1 is the black plastic. I actually like the plastic handle a bit more because of the contoured grip.

The blade steel of the PH1 is thicker than the PH2, so maybe if I had two knives of the same handle material the PH1 might be thicker overall?
