Hey everyone, anyone know the difference between the Pheer 454 and Pheer 427? There's like a $500 cost difference, but it sounds like they just look different. Thanks

I just got a 454, it's just made out of 1/4" plate steel rather than the square steel tubing. I talked to Jose and he said the reason he came out with the 454 is because some of his potential buyers thought the 427 looked flimsy. I thought the 454 looked a little more sturdy and better so I went with it.

I have a 427, and im a big fan. Its sturdy, there is plenty of power, and the tracking works well. While there are a few things im not a fan of, it is certainly a great first grinder. While I may be upgrading soon and selling mine, it is by no means a poor machine.

What aren't you a fan of? I'm trying to see if its for me. Also, is it something where I could go as far as I wanted on that machine, or would I have to upgrade again and buy another machine? Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance

No. The machine will not be the limiting factor. Make sure you buy a VFD and you will be golden. My issues with it are minor annoyances, things like the work table it comes with was junk, so i replaced with with one from Don Dentz, the position of the tooling arm is a little annoying for the large chef knives and chisels, things like that. Its a great machine and given the money i would not have put it anywhere else.

And as i have said before, you really cant beat a VFD and direct drive for under a grand

I agree about the tool rest. I too bought one from Don Dentz.
