I decided today to test the knife by stabbing a phone book to see how the tip would hold up. I used an ice pick grip and stabbed the phone book with a strong force. I did not use all my strength because I didn't want to slip and lose any fingers. Nonetheless, my grip was secure due to the design of the knife. I was surprised at how easy it was to pierce the phone book. The knife went through 530 pages without trying. The tip of the knife showed no damage and still shaved the hair off my arm. Lock up is still tight and blade opens and closes smoothly.
