I had a busy weekend, but I had some time to check out the Medium Chopper last night. I wish I had my LC and BC to compare side-by-side, but it is definitely a perfect "middleweight" option in the chopper family...so I guess it's not a just a clever name
Those bevels, though!
It's the attention to detail like this that set CPK apart from most other makers.
Much like the EDC2, the scales on the MC seem to have been improved in all the right areas. It's hard to say for certain w/o having all three choppers to compare side-by-side, but these scales feel slightly more slender near the grip, but a more pronounced bulge in the palm. The swell on the pommel promotes a very secure grip for full chops or heavy swings. I have large hands (size 9 1/2-10 glove) in the sense they are wide/fat, but not long or spindly. I am still able to get a full wrapped grip on this thing, and it feels very natural and comfortable in-hand.
I promised myself I wasn't going to post any pics of my grotesquely beautiful
@Grog sheaths, but I just wanted to see how the MC fit (in place of the LC it was made for). It fits perfectly, so at least I have a way to protect it for now until I get my other sheaths (and choppers) back. Should be soooooon!!!
Here's a few teaser shots of one of the sheaths; there's a twin for the Behemoth Chopper. Once I get my choppers back, I will definitely be posting more pics and more detailed feedback about the sheaths. Dan did such an awesome job on these! I had fun experimenting with light and depth of blacks/shadows on these, so they are pretty dramatic.
Medium Chopper and HDFK - the wrecking crew!!!
I feel pretty damn lucky to be in possession of such awesome and functional works of art like these. I am beholden to Dan and CPK for treating me to such treasures!
