I could not have asked for a better weekend to take delivery of a new chopper with the Nor'easter blowing through. Spent most of the day clearing debris and limbing a few larger branches off the property and cleaning up some of the trails in the woods out back. If half the family wasn't fighting the flu or whatever this is, we'd of had a nice big fire tonight.

All in all the Medium Chopper is excellent. The LC is no slouch, but the extra heft of the MC is nice and makes me want a Behemoth even more to keep around the house. I'm looking forward to getting more familiar with this one. Thank you @Nathan the Machinist and @Jo the Machinist !

No hipster shots today, too busy and they take too much time to set up.

The supplied sheath was crap, though I am hard pressed to say if my temporary holster is any better. Being too impatient to wait until my kydex is sorted, I cut off a stick of Sch 40 and unplugged the toaster oven. My wife caught me walking out the door and kindly asked what the hell I thought I was doing. In a rush to chop on some stuff, the 2" pipe went on the grill. I was going for a nice cross hatch sear, but one of my kids couldn't give me five minutes and distracted me so some horizontal lines made themselves permanent. It'll do until I figure out a sheath. Books are closed.

I had a busy weekend, but I had some time to check out the Medium Chopper last night. I wish I had my LC and BC to compare side-by-side, but it is definitely a perfect "middleweight" option in the chopper family...so I guess it's not a just a clever name :p

Those bevels, though!
It's the attention to detail like this that set CPK apart from most other makers.

Much like the EDC2, the scales on the MC seem to have been improved in all the right areas. It's hard to say for certain w/o having all three choppers to compare side-by-side, but these scales feel slightly more slender near the grip, but a more pronounced bulge in the palm. The swell on the pommel promotes a very secure grip for full chops or heavy swings. I have large hands (size 9 1/2-10 glove) in the sense they are wide/fat, but not long or spindly. I am still able to get a full wrapped grip on this thing, and it feels very natural and comfortable in-hand.

I promised myself I wasn't going to post any pics of my grotesquely beautiful @Grog sheaths, but I just wanted to see how the MC fit (in place of the LC it was made for). It fits perfectly, so at least I have a way to protect it for now until I get my other sheaths (and choppers) back. Should be soooooon!!! :D

Here's a few teaser shots of one of the sheath; there's a twin for the Behemoth Chopper. Once I get my choppers back, I will definitely be posting more pics and more detailed feedback about the sheaths. Dan did such an awesome job on these! I had fun experimenting with light and depth of blacks/shadows on these, so they are pretty dramatic.

^Great set Sir and that sheath, OMG that's beyond words! Grog is knocking it outta the park with his leather skills.

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, man. Dan's sheaths are pretty damn awesome, and he is such a good dude to work with. It's quite fitting that he has carved a niche little market in the CPK realm. He makes well-crafted products that far exceed the price tag that he puts on them, in terms of quality.

Very, Very nice! Congrats
Thank you, Tommy!
