I had a busy weekend, but I had some time to check out the Medium Chopper last night. I wish I had my LC and BC to compare side-by-side, but it is definitely a perfect "middleweight" option in the chopper family...so I guess it's not a just a clever name
Those bevels, though!
It's the attention to detail like this that set CPK apart from most other makers.
Much like the EDC2, the scales on the MC seem to have been improved in all the right areas. It's hard to say for certain w/o having all three choppers to compare side-by-side, but these scales feel slightly more slender near the grip, but a more pronounced bulge in the palm. The swell on the pommel promotes a very secure grip for full chops or heavy swings. I have large hands (size 9 1/2-10 glove) in the sense they are wide/fat, but not long or spindly. I am still able to get a full wrapped grip on this thing, and it feels very natural and comfortable in-hand.
I promised myself I wasn't going to post any pics of my grotesquely beautiful @Grog sheaths, but I just wanted to see how the MC fit (in place of the LC it was made for). It fits perfectly, so at least I have a way to protect it for now until I get my other sheaths (and choppers) back. Should be soooooon!!!
Here's a few teaser shots of one of the sheath; there's a twin for the Behemoth Chopper. Once I get my choppers back, I will definitely be posting more pics and more detailed feedback about the sheaths. Dan did such an awesome job on these! I had fun experimenting with light and depth of blacks/shadows on these, so they are pretty dramatic.
Medium Chopper and HDFK - the wrecking crew!!!
I feel pretty damn lucky to be in possession of such awesome and functional works of art like these. I am beholden to Dan and CPK for treating me to such treasures!
Westinghouse (L) vs antique edgecut (R)
Congrats Dave. I'm very glad to see that B^2's Westinghouse set went to a great home and are in the hands of a very capable gent
Thanks Mat! It's pretty fun to compare the different materials. The scales on that particular edc1 would be distinguishable from nearly any other. Very cool stuff, that Westinghouse
I was well chuffed when I discovered that it was indeed youhoo and that they didn't go to say Canada
I sent you the listWho do I have to kill for those pictures with the sheaths? Angry ex brother in law? Ex boss? Let me know. I will certainly NOT help.
EDC³?
When polled, 9 out of 10 CPKs prefer the 45th parallel
Let's see if our Northern brother notices the sheaths in the triple edc pic. I left the horizontal a smidge off just for him :devilish:
It's cool man, there comes a time in every man's life that he has to sell his body to pay the bills.Bahahahaha.
Bob being a true Gentleman gave me a call about selling that pair, before he listed them, in particular the FK as my love for them is well known, but being off work with the broken foot for months, I have been in sell mode, not buy mode, I only have a handful of knives left. I've been trying to offset $1000 a week in lost income with knife sales, as well as pulling from savings. I'm down $48,000 in income and I don't have that many knives lol.

Err, wait, that is a thing right?
I am sure the Knives would bring it more moneyHmmm! You may wanna start with selling a few if your 500 or so unused blades before you head down that road to perdition
