This knife is a champ bushcraft blade. Full review and action pics by Wednesday. Meantime, enjoy these. I love this knife.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing the pics! I'm excited about the possible group buy on these, too. Looks like a handy knife.

The comparison pic is particularly appreciated!

Bear,
No steak yet! Should be a part of the test eh? ;)

tknife,
I'll ask Spark again about the group buy.

Scott,
You got it brother!

HDW,
Thank you, and glad you like the pics.

Spooky,
Comparison pics are important to me when I read reviews or see pics, so I try to make sure I post them.

mneedham,
Thanks - the simonich is a special knife to me as Rob was a close friend. I tried to make the knife finished up to some standard that might make him proud.

TF,
Nice try, Brother! :D
Actually, I'm thinking of doing a passaround with one of these...

nice mini review...

something about those knives looks off to me though...like the blade is too wide for the handle or something. eh...it could just be the photos.

nice collection there brian...i recognize those bark rivers...(trade!trade!trade! :) )

edited to add:
how do they feel in hand with the bolts sticking out like that? do you notice them at all?

siguy,

I don't even notice the bolts and they never once caused hot spots or discomfort. The blade is in the perfect position for notching and whittling, actually...
(Trade! Trade!) We haven't seen 1Tracker/Eugene here at all since the CT Gathering...

j williams, the knives are light as a feather and I don't even n otice the, on the belt, especially clipped sideways on my front right side next to the buckle.

TF, no, can't blame ya for trying...;)

a.) I like how the blade says "Steak knife," yet you are carving up a branch. Need a picture with a steak. Looks like they would make for a perfect grill-side knife.

b.) How are the sheaths for those things? Material, etc?

Stekman,

I'll post pics of the knives in sheath. I posted initial pics in a recent thread when I received them. The sheaths are kydex, tight hold, with rotating clip. Here's a link that thread with sheaths pix:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=554605&highlight=Steak

These are typical of TOPS great sheaths. I'll take some photos with the knife on my belt so you can see how easy they ride.

Tony, full review by tomorrow or Thursday latest.

Trace, love Rob's work! The kit knife was an unsharpened bead-blasted blank that I sharpened and then had the scales put on. It can;t be called a Simonich because I scratched it too much but it's one of my treasured mementos of Rob and his friendship, so at least the scales do him justice.

Brett, miss ya, love ya, and all our best friends from our dojo.

Is there gonna be a wss version of these?, I thought I heard somethin bout that.....
