Anyone else hooked on these? My squad is. For cheap pen, they are the cat's ass.

If you like the Pilot G2, try out their Q7 retractable gel pen. Writes very smooth and has a needle point.

I don't use anything else except those G2 pens. That gel ink is awesome.;)

Freaky! We use the Pilot G2 retractables too, have done for about two years. We used to be issued with Bics but we put in a report saying they wouldn't work in the cold (not true ;) ) and asked for Gel ink pens, and they had to be retractable because lost caps were a FOD problem.
Guess who are the only volume Gel Ink retractables? Pilot G2! Now we are the envy of all the departments.
Who'd have thought we could get so excited over a throw away pen.

These?

Our office uses the Pilot G2-2 07 (it's typed just like that). It's a clear smoked gray plastic, click type, with an 1 3/8" ergo rubber sleeve around the lower barrel.

Great pen, very smooth. I stole a couple for spares. Don't tell my pastor.

After reading this post I picked up a couple ($1.85 ea.) at the local Wally World. Great little pen. Might have to try some of those Sanfords.

OK, they're cheap, they write smoothly, but how to the points withstand alittle abuse? All the uniball pens I've had wrote great until they were tapped, some even very lightly, on the point and the ball gets pushed into the barrel, or falls out, or gets crushed, etc. I need a pen that can stand up to a little more abuse than that. A bic works fine, but I prefer a spacepen myself, as that provides both ruggedness and various other advantages.

I've still yet to find a pen that can spell properly though.

Own up - who sits at the desk and sees how high you can make a retractable pen jump? Who cares if it can write underwater, I want a pen that can take my eye out!

I keep a gel pen to do accident reports on. They fill in the blocks very well and make the overall report look neater. Most gel pens I have found take a minute to get started.

Can anypne tell me exactly what a Gel Pen is? Photo looks like a regular ball point, but I assume there is some differance. Is this like a "generic Fisher?"

From one of the links I posted above:

Permanent water-based gel ink for exceptionally smooth writing. Lasts longer than most liquid ink-filled pens. Tip automatically retracts when clipped into a pocket. Rubber contour grip reduces writing fatigue.

Long story short, the gel ink works REALLY well, these are ball-point pens that just work better than ball point pens used to.
