Piranha knives are absolutely amazing and are very high quality in the materials they make and also have an amazing steel for there blade which is the best steels to make blades in my opinion, They used s30v or 154cm to make their high quality knives out of which is the best two metals overall to make blades out of, The only complaint that someone could have out of a Piranha knife is that since it does not have a tightening fixture that goes through the pivot point of the blade to hold the blade on it has a little side to side wobble, It is very minimal wobble and really doesn't take away from the quality of the knife but there is a fix so you don't have to have any side to side play at all so when the knife fires and opens it is as sturdy as a fixed blade knife. All you have to do is get some Vaseline and while the blade is closed pack some Vaseline into the pivot point then open the blade and close it multiple times slowly with your hand while this Vaseline is packed into the pivot point, After you do this pack some more Vaseline into it to make sure that the petroleum jelly is packed into the pivot point where the pin goes through the blade and like I said open and close it slowly a few times in between each packing to make sure that the petroleum jelly packs and covers all of the pivot point inside, After you've done this a couple times wipe off all the excess around the knife and while the blade is closed you can even wipe it out of the top of the knife where the pivot point stops on the blade, I know this sounds crazy because you're packing a lubrication into a blade to tighten it but since the tolerances are so close on these knives and like I was saying there is very little blade play to begin with the petroleum jelly works its way in to the pivot points and helps in two ways, Really it will be lubricated for an immense amount of time because the jelly is in there and the pin is really floating on the petroleum jelly so it acts as a great lubricant that actually cushions the knife every time you open and close it or use it and since the tolerances are so tight the little thin layer of petroleum jelly that gets inside there will make all the blade play go away, Like I said I know it sounds crazy but try this and pack the petroleum jelly in a couple times use the knife try to see if it has any blade play in it and then repeat the process over the course of a few days and the petroleum jelly will actually harden just the slite amount and it will put the most amazing lubrication point that you could ask for on the pivot and also tighten every bit of the blade play so it is as strong and solid as a fixed blade knife, The whole reason behind this working so amazingly is because Piranha makes such tight fixtures and is so precise that the small amount of petroleum jelly that works its way into the pivot point cushions and tightens every bit of play there ever was, If you are skilled in taking apart automatic knives the best way to do it is to take the blade apart by just pulling the three screws out of the handle and it will come apart and just wiping petroleum jelly around the pen and around the pivot point on the blade then putting it back together with petroleum jelly on it and when you put it back together it will be tight, You can do this and it will tighten it immediately and squeeze out the excess or you can just do like I was saying and keep the knife together and pack the petroleum jelly in the top of the knife and hold the blade once it ejects and open and close it slowly with your hand while the petroleum jelly works its way in, I know this doesn't sound like it's going to work but I promise you ladies and gentlemen that this is a complete and great fix for the small amount of bladeplay it has and also acts as an amazing lubricant that withstands time, I appreciate your attention and this is truly the only fault that Piranha knives have since they do not have a screw to tighten the blade and it's just a pin which really is a better idea because if the screw loosens causing more blade play or could possibly fall off if you do not maintain the knife, Piranha knives are amazing in every way and are truly precise machines and just like any machine or engine you have to keep them lubricated correctly and the correct lubrication is petroleum jelly or Vaseline to put into the pivot point and when it packs itself in after a couple times of doing it it will definitely be as solid and reliable as anything in this world, Thank You.

Doesn’t work. Piranhas need a pivot screw. Use periods. Thanks.
You should try what I am speaking of because it truly does work, I have done this on my Bodyguard also Mini Guard also my Fingerling and this works wonderfully, the blade play is very minimal to begin with and the petroleum jelly fills the small gap that is in-between the pin to piviot on blade and lubricates also tightens the blade perfectly, try it before you knock it because it really works and is the complete fix for the blade wobble, the pin is better than a pivot screw that can loosen because the pin is consistent pressure and if you did as I described it will truly tighten the blade without play and lubricate also lasts for a very long time until you have to reapply, I wouldn't be posting this unless I have done this and saw the results I speak of with three different Piranha Knives, This Really Works, Try It And You Will See.

Do you work for Piranha?

Petroleum jelly is a lousy lubricant.
If one were to use anything to do this, lithium automotive grease would be the thing to use.
Petroleum jelly will soften from body heat and ooze out of the knife, leaving a grease spot on your clothes.
Learn what a period is, and where to use it.

This.

I’d rather have a little blade play than a knife leaking Vaseline on everything in my pocket because it’s warm outside.

Not to mention that you cannot fix blade play with petroleum jelly. The moment any lateral force is applied to the blade it's gonna' just squish out. Petroleum jelly is not known for having high compressive strength. :p

Do you work for Piranha?
No I do not work for Piranha, I am an avid knife collector and Own a Powersport Shop named CycleCraft in Bethlehem,Ga. I have extensive knowledge of mechanical items and how metal moves together and how lubrication fills in the small gaps between metal to keep the metal intact, hence the whole reason behind different types of lubrications for different applications, I have been building engines and protecting engines also the moving parts all through the machine on powersports equipment for a lifetime and I truly am telling you some good knowledge that you should take because Piranha knives are great because of the way the firing button is recessed and works to keeps it safe in your pocket so there's no accidental opening and it does not have an external safety to slow you down when your trying to open it in an emergency situation and is actually lighter and thinner to carry because the only button in to activate/deactivate the locking mechanism (firing button), the only complaint that truly is not a problem that hinders the performance of the knife is that the blade has a little wobble side to side but if you put the correct lubrication in there the minimal Gap that there is from the factory is filled with this lubrication and when one piece of metal moves toward the other piece of metal because the knife blade is flexed the lubrication in between the metal pieces locks them so they cannot get any closer and in turn makes the blade solid and has a pocket of lubrication between both metals so it is a lubrication that stays and lasts also works amazingly well, if you have a piranha knife and just follow the simple instructions that I posted you will 100% see that what I'm telling you is right and you will see the value of the proper lubrication between metal mechanical pieces. Piranha Knives are made of very high quality materials and are designed well so they fit your hand perfectly also actuate the blade perfectly and are light and thin to carry every day but feel amazing in your hand and the blade is tempered so well that they're actually stronger than other knives even high quality knives like Benchmade or Zero Tolerance or any of the big high quality knife companies that have the same type steel because the s30v or 154 CM that comes from piranha is tempered so perfect that it stays sharp longer than the other brands also has a better durability and impact resistance, Piranha Knives is definitely an amazing Knife company and also more so affordable than the other big brands that are truly no better in quality and in my opinion not as good in quality. This is the only complaint I've ever heard of a Piranha Knife is the blade wobble and like I said it's very minimal to begin with because it does not have a pivot screw it just has a pin which makes the knife thinner and lighter also you don't ever have to worry about the screw coming loose riding around in your pocket or even have the thought in your head or worry that it's not tight, when you do what I described and fill the minimum Gap between the pivot bar and the blade with lubrication (petroleum jelly) as I've stated it makes this knife 100% solid, Try it and you will definitely see.
