Hello everyone I have a friend who's Birthday is coming up and he is a Fencer, He uses a Foil with a pistol Grip. I was hoping to get him a Knife for his birthday but he is very picky with knife grips. Can anyone help me out with trying to find a fixed or folding knife that might be something similar. Anything helps!

Thank You!

The KABAR is a good suggestion.

Basically, I think you should look for something 1) along the lines of a fighter with a sub-hilt--with the extra finger control; or 2) where the heel of the grip drops downward...putting the strength of the closed hand behind the point, and leaving the point in line with the extended thumb.

Here are some examples by Boker, Entrek, Spyderco, and Blackhawk.

Of these; the Spyderco and Blackhawk are probably closest to positioning the hand in "pistol grip" position in terms of angle.

That would be my recomendation, too. The Ka-Bar TDI knives come in four sizes (regular, large, ankle and a small necker), and the first three also come in drop point and tanto blades, and also plain edge or combo-edged.

you will never find a knife with a handle resembeling the pistol grip you are talking about. it wont fit in your pocket
