Plasti-Dip for knife handles

There was a thread on this a while back-
I've had a knife done w/ Line-X bed liner. It works.

I also was thinking of doing the same to my Izula. If you do it, let us know how it turns out.

I put that on some channel locks. It worked good. They rode around in my tool bag for over a year and the handles held up great.

have you tried wrapping it with paracord or getting scales for it yet? I'd do that before dipping cuz its harder to scrape it all off rather then to unwrap the paracord.

I have used that handle dip on a few things and it works pretty well. I have found you need quite a few coats and the thinner the better ,the dip thins with zippo lighter fluid. My machete has that stuff over balsa wood and has been that way for 10 years, it holds up just fine. If you do it and find you don`t like it just cut it off (it will not scrape it`s too stretchy).

I did up a Kanetsune with the stuff... guard and all. Worked great.

So, how do you like it?

It is great. I can get a good grip on it and it doesn't affect the sheath at all. I made some micarta scales for it but when I sent the knife out to Kiah for a new sheath I took them off. So, they don't fit. My goof. However , the sheath is a perfect fit so I went to the Plasti-Dip and both the knife and sheath are happy now. I think it was a good move and might try it on a few others.
