I acquired my silver dagger a few years back and it was heavily tarnished on the handle and scabbard. I know enough about silver to know that it is a silver alloy of some form whether it’s 800, 925 or some other mixture. I did a basic cleaning to see if there were marks but did not find any.
It is entirely handmade and missing the end of the hilt. The dagger blade is fullered on both sides and I believe forged steel. Over all length in sheath is 11.25 and the blade is 7 inches it also hadwhat I believe to be a replacement frog. http://feed1.tinypic.com/rss.php?ua=D7x2Y0a1KM728hF//wycsIh4l5k2TGxc

It is a beautiful dagger. I am probably wrong but it seems to me it could be from Argentina. The style of the handle reminds me of some criollo style knives and daggers I've seen.

very nice. I'd like it more if both quillions were either turned upward or just gone altogether. you say it's missing the rest of the hilt, but do you think it's possible this was some sort of pole arm, like a spear, perhaps? I know it's rare to see a sheath with those, just wondering.
