Please help me to identify this knife steel.

Hello,
First a quick story. A guy my wife works with asked me to sharpen a knife for him. He said that his Dad made it for him years ago. He has no idea what the steel is, other then stainless. I started sharpening it and noticed that etched into the blade was "6-K". I wondered if this could be stellite (sp?). A magnet will not stick to the knife. There is absolutly no rust, discoloration or oxidation on this knife. It has been sitting in a leather sheath for years.
Could this be Stellite? Will a magnet stick to Stellite? Does Stellite have similar properties to Talonite?

Thank you for the link. I am going to spend some time on Marion's site. I think that it might be Stellite.
